More Pre-Deployment Activities!

This last weekend The Heap's came to visit. We did lots of fun activities and had a great time!!
Somehow this picture got out of order but it's Me, Payson, Em and Grandma Great at Casa Bonita!

On Friday we went to Garden of the Gods and played around on the rocks for a bit!

Payson just HAD to put his foot in the puddle...even after we were walking away he still kept stretching his foot trying to reach the puddle!

We were so like the strongest ones there!!

On Saturday we went to the Temple and then went to Casa Bonita! They had an old fashioned photo place and Em wanted a photo so....

My 2 favorite cowboys!

Em and I bustin some SWEET dance moves!!

Mary and Emily decided to put on Shayne's gear and look tough!!

Ice Cream...and LIPGLOSS!!!!!

Well, as I was typing out this blog that was originally named Ice Cream, Payson was being very quiet, so I knew he was up to no good! And upon checking on him we discovered he had found some of my lipgloss and painted his face with it!!! It was way hilarious so we had to get some pics of course!!!
He was very proud of himself!

Now these were the original pictures I was working on....We were working in the yard today and an Ice Cream Man came down our street!! We were very excited and decided we needed some ice cream. Well Payson REALLY likes ice cream and he was having a hard time deciding which one he wanted...
Strawberry Ice Cream Cone.....

...Or Sherbet Push Pop...

After a few trades with Mommy (Shayne was smart and ate his where Payson couldn't see him) He finally decided on the cone.

Needless to say, he was a mess! And he loved every minute of it!!

At the park (part II)

Well, I had this absolutely hilarious video that Shayne took of all of us trying to do this, but apparently the file was too big for me to put it on here. Between the 4 cameras though, we got some good pics! We found these monkey rings at the park and the boys were trying to tell us that we couldn't flip on them, so we had to prove them wrong......
....Or right!

We were trying soo hard!

I soo almost made it!!

And so did Tab....well kind of!

And so of course, the boys had to come show us up!
Cody made it...

Brandon made it....

And Travis.....

He made it too!!
We had a good time attempting to do it and an even better time laughing hysterically, but we all woke up the next morning extremely sore!!! Pathetic, I know!!

Cinco de Who????

Ok, well most of the people who read our blog know that it is a tradition in our Family to celebrate Cinco de Mayo....well not really celebrate it, but more like an excuse to cook a TON of great food! So my family all wanted to come up and see Shayne before he takes off and it just so happened to fall on the same weekend as our party! So, we had The Warn's, The Little's and my Mom, Stevie and Cody all at our house this week! WoW....I know! On Thursday we just did some shopping and stuff. On Friday when everyone was here we had some activities planned. Well us girls minus Jessie and Cody had to run to Wal Mart and happened to stumble upon a HUGE Lilac bush! So of course we had to stop and pick some. They made a beautiful center piece on the table. Stevie and I

Me, Mom, Tab and Stevie

Then that afternoon we took everyone bowling! Of course Brandon won, but it was still fun to play! Even Payson did some bowling!!

After Bowling we went to the park. After awhile we realized Maddy was gone...well there was a bday party going on and Maddy invited herself and was playing in their bounce house!!! She is NOT shy at all! It was hilarious!!!

The girls were tackling Uncle Cody

Cody the Monkey!

Playing catch with Pappa!

LOL!! Mom

Trav and Shayne pushing Tab on the merry-go-round

Mom wanted pictures of all of us swinging..

This one is my favorite!

And finally, cooking for Cinco De Mayo! We cooked all day!

I was soo glad to have good help!

The finished product! We had tacos, tostadas, flautas, carnitas and chicken enchiladas!!

And of course.....a Pinata !

Well I had a hilarious video from the park but for some reason it will not upload!!! Dang it!

I'm Not Ashamed to Admit It....

So, yesterday I was listening to my favorite song on the 1st Rascal Flatts cd...in the chorus it says "Tell me that you live for love......tell me that it's not just me." I got to thinking about it and in reality, don't we all live for love? In one way or another, we all want to be loved. Ever since I was a very little girl I have always wanted to make other people happy. So they would love me. I remember when my Dad would come home from work and I would take his boots off so he could relax in his chair, then as I got a little older I would bake goodies for my family and the kids in the neighborhood....in fact, I remember one day our neighbors from across the field coming over because they swore they could smell me baking brownies! Then, when I was in Jr High and my Mom had to go back to work, I learned how to cook, so when she got home from work she didn't have to worry about making dinner...I always had it ready, along with having the house clean. I remember how happy that made my parents and I remember how much I loved the feeling of knowing that I had pleased them. Now my sisters on the other hand, just thought I was a kiss up and they always hated it when we had a family council and I would be given more privelages then them. That is not why I did it though. I did it simply for the fact that I wanted to be loved. I know that my parents love me and that I did not NEED to do those things, but I guess I just needed to SEE their reactions...Anyway, I guess I have always lived to make others happy and to make others feel better when they have needed it. And I have NEVER wanted anything in return. That's not how I work. As I grew into an adult, I realized that being loved by my Heavenly Father was more important than baking brownies for the neighbors or being everyones shoulder to lean on.....But then I realized that Heavenly Father loves me BECAUSE of things like that. Now I have never been perfect and have for sure made my share of mistakes, but at that time in my life, I knew that I wanted an Eternal Family. I didn't think I deserved one, but I promised Heavenly Father that I would do the things he asked so that one day I could begin working towards my Eternal Family. Last night as we were putting Payson to bed, I sat him on my lap and we said "let's get ready for prayers." He sat up and folded his arms, and even though I am good at hiding it, a flood of emotions washed over me at that time. I have never felt more love from my Heavenly Father then at that moment. As I rocked Payson to sleep, I begin to think about all of my Blessings. I have always been blessed with GREAT friends. I have the best family in the world and we are all best friends! And in spite of my mistakes, Heavenly Father blessed me with the Greatest Husband! He is always there for me, he is patient with me, he always laughs with me, sometimes at me, but it's still fun, he would literally do anything for me, but best of all HE LOVES ME! And that's all that matters. And now that we have Payson, I realize that I live for the moments that I make them happy. Even if it's a simple thank you kiss from Shayne or a big excited laugh from Payson. I truly LIVE to be LOVED by them. They are the most important people in my life. I know that if I continue to do the things that please our Father in Heaven, then he will continue to bless me and my Family with more love than we can imagine. I admit it, I do live for love. I live to love and to be loved and that is what makes life so unbelieveably amazing!

Snow Day and Forts!

I promised pictures of another fort so.....Thursday night we had Bjorn and Anders Poulsen over for a sleepover while their parents were out of town! We woke up Friday morning to a snow storm and happy day, the boys had a snow day....and so did Shayne!! So we stayed home and built a fort! The boys were so excited!!
Payson had such a good time with the "big" boys!

As you can see, they built the fort around the tv so they could sit inside and watch movies and play video games!

The finished product! It took up my entire living room!

The view from upstairs!
