Apparently Colorado Has A Fall Frosty Freeze!!

I know this picture has nothing to do with a frosty freeze but I just had to post it! He was looking so handsome for church today!! I cannot wait for his Papa to come home and see what a big boy he is in his suit!!! I love this kid so much!!

These on the other hand, are very frosty pictures!!! We woke up to what looked like snow but upon closer evaluation we realized it was ice! SOLID ICE! No snow about it! Some of the pictures look like there is snow in the background, but I promise it is all ice. WARNING!!: You may want to put on a coat before looking at these pictures because I guarantee they will make you cold just seeing them!!!

These are the rocks in my front yard...they were so slick that I had to sit in them rather than squat on them to take a picture because I kept falling!!

This is what WAS my beautiful green grass...now it is beautiful white grass!

Shayne's car had about 1/2 an inch thick of ice on the whole thing!! Thank goodness my car was in the garage so we did not have to do any scraping before church!

Here are some of my Fall decorations...

This was a spiderweb!!! I thought that looked so cool!

Yesterday before we realized how cold it was, Panks had a swell idea to go for a walk!!! The kids were less than thrilled to put on giant coats...as you can tell!!! They definitely were not complaining once we were outside though!!!

I am hoping for some warmer weather this week so I can take Payson out to take some nice pictures!! This morning everything was so icy and slick that after I was done being a crazy woman walking outside, I tried to walk back up my driveway but it was too slippery!! I couldn't even crawl! I had to walk all the way around to the back to get into my house! It was pretty funny but I was so frozen that I could hardly move my mouth to talk!!! We got a good laugh out of that!!

Fall is Officially Here!

I have to say I am kind of ashamed at how long it has been since I have posted!! We have been coming and going and had company coming and going so we have been busy!! Here are some pics of some of our happenings this past month! First of all, Payson got some wheels!! This little car is way more fun to cruise around the block in than a stroller! Not to mention, it's way cooler! The first thing Payson does every morning is go sit in it waiting for a ride!! Payson's Great Aunt Tricia sent him a new track suit that was super darling!! Here are some pictures of Payson showing it off!

I thought it was too cute!!

Also, Cody came up and spent a couple of weeks with us!! We took a short drive to Manitou Springs for an evening!

Playing at the park!

Having a great time!!

One day we stopped at the PX and they had this hotdog place! Well Cody said he does not eat hotdogs so I got one and then when he saw mine, he quickly changed his mind!! This is him waiting in the freezing cold waiting for his lunch!!

We had to go get bacon bbq burgers from GoodTimes and decided to share a small spoon bender between the 3 of us! It was very good, but after a couple bites we were so sick we barely ate half of it! Thansk Dad for passing on those anti dairy genes!

That afternoon we decided to go check out the Focus on the Family Welcom Center because it had a SWEET giant slide. Well we got there and the slide was closed. :( But we did find a giant play place that had some neat but random things in it! But like always, we made the best of it!

This was the best part. There was a room with a random Wardrobe in it....little did we know it was going to take us into Narnia!!!! Snow and everything!!

We had to take a picture with the Lamp Post...especially since our Narnia Lamp post in Bozeman got taken down! :(

So Shayne ahs finally been able to send me a couple pictures from the good ol middle east. first one is the river that runs through where he is at.

This is my poor Soldier's face after he was hit with something while trying to recover a burning truck. Poor guy!
The infamous truck!

And this is a NASTY spider that my brave Husband, who is deathly afraid of spiders, killed all by himself! That is enough to give you nightmares for the rest of your life!!

Alright, well that is what has been going on with us lately. All is well and we are still just taking life day by day! We are now over a quarter of the way through this deployment and half way to R&R! We are so excited and cannot wait!

Bozeman Happenings!!

For those of you who don't know, Payson and I are currently in Bozeman. This will be our last trip of the Summer because I need a BREAK!!! But I could not think of a more BEAutiful place to end my Summer. For anyone who has never been here, it is a must see. I love this place and I love the way I feel when I am here! Anyway, I thought I would post about some things we have done so far before I had 100 pictures to upload when I get home! Just being here is an adventure in itself but Monday night the whole Fam took a trip up Hyalite to roast some hotdogs and Marshmallows. This was Payson's first time getting to go and I was sad Shayne missed it. Once again, thank goodness for modern technology! When we first got up there, we found some wild raspberries!! While I was attempting to get a good picture, I ended up getting both of my arms in a Stinging Nettle plant!! Both of my arms felt like fire and I had wierd bumps that appeared but thankfully the pain was gone after 30 mins or so!! But the Raspberries were beautiful and tasted pretty good too!!
The guy who was taking care of the camp brought us an old radio flyer for the boys!! I thought that was so nice! He even let them keep it! Payson was not too sure how he felt about it!

So, I had to throw this picture in here because I love this girl to death!!! It has been so fun watching her grow since she was 7 and I cannot believe she just started high school! "Tear"

Payson had taken a bite out of each of these and then took off to go play. It looks like they were set up to take a picture so I couldn't resist. His little teeth marks in both were killing me but I thought it would be a neat picture in his scrapbook! For anyone who does not know, Payson LOVES chocolate. Something he inherited from his Grandma Mary. In fact, just this afternoon he kept finding all of her stashes and just when I thought he found the last one and I put it up high, he would find another!! I think we should start calling her Grandma Hershey!!

Standing by the river! I love the way we look EXACTLY the same in this picture!!

I absolutely love this picture!! All 3 of their expressions are hilarious!!

There is a new "Dinosaur" park in Bozeman and we have been a couple times. This was Payson doing the "Ropes Course" he actually made it halfway up and then just sat down and started swinging on it!

Today Melissa and I tooka drive out to Toston to our friend Joni! I actually spent Saturday at the Temple with her when I went with the Heaps and it was great! I wanted to go out and see her again before I left though!! This is a picture of Payson and Her youngest. I know it is a back shot but they were very engrossed in the movie! the two of them played great together and it was so fun to spend a couple hours with them and catch up!!

This afternoon, Grandma got out some bubbles for the boys. But these bubbles don't pop! They are so cool! I was trying to get a good picture of them!

This was a GREAT idea of Grandpa's! He took the extenders out so the tramp was perfect size for the boys to climb up!

Payson was loving chasing the bubbles!

Payson and Grant were making each other laugh as they ran through the bubbles and chased each other!!

That has been our excitement so far!! We still have some more time here and some more fun things planned, so until then, enjoy!!!

More Fun with Payson and Momma!

This Summer has been quite an adventure and we are not done yet! Melissa came back to town so we decided to go to Manitou Springs. It was a neat town with all sorts of fun shops and what not! We had a great time exploring and felt like we were in a whole new place! Even though we were only about 10 miles from home!! In the midst of our discovering, we found an entire Christmas store!!! There was even a chair for Santa!! Apparently he was off duty though so we stole it for a minute!! Too bad it's August because it would have made a cute Christmas card!!In the middle of the town there was a giant indoor/outdoor arcade!! It was fun to just walk around and see the sites and smell the food!! Melissa took this picture and it will forever be one of my faves!!

We even found a giant bicycle!!

Payson was very concerned because there were a lot of apples down in the stream and he wanted to get them!

This was a fun toy we found in the park! he looks mad here, but he really was laughing!!

We also found this way fun disk swing!! Payson just kicked back and relaxed while he enjoyed the wind in his face!!

So this picture. Anyone who knows me knows that I can be a REALLY DUMB BLONDE sometimes!! And when I get with Melissa we both get that way. It makes life interesting! Anyway, we were in the Sonic drive thru and we were trying to read the license plate on that car! We kelp pronouncing it "Sonic Crulz"!! We could not understand what the heck it meant!! then at the same time, while making the same hand motions we were like "Sonic Rules!!" Yes we are dumb but we laughed for a LONG time!!! There is nothing better than great laughter even if you are laughing at your self!!

Trip to Farmington!

Summer is still not over and we went on another trip! This time we got to take a trip down to Farmington, NM and spend the week at Great Aunt Tricia and Uncle RJ's house! It really was a blast. We drove down with Ann and Ben, and Joyce and Lauren who came in from Washington to go down with us! We had so much fun and got to do so many fun things! The day before we left Mary, Emily Kendra, Grant and Karen all came so we were able to spend a little time with them as well!
This was Payson's little personal pool right outside the big pool!
Playing with his Great Aunts Joyce and Ann

Relaxing in the swing after a long swim!

We got the chance to go up to Durango for the day and for part of it, we went up to Purgatory and got to ride the alpine slides! (Pics of that coming soon) Funny Story, as Lauren and I were riding the Ski Lift up the mountain my cell phone started to ring! Who knew I would have service way up there?! Then to make it even better it was Shayne! So I had to tell him I was riding the lift up the mountain and he immediately knew where we were and what we were doing! After the ride, Payson was being cute and playing and he was standing by this fence looking like he was posing so I had to take a picture!

This is the whole group that came to Durango with us at the restaurant! Lauren, me, Payson, Tricia, Ben, Ann, Joyce, Alex and Grandma Weston.

So, this is a great story too..another one that Shayne was quite jealous of. His Uncle RJ has this beautiful Thunderbird and he decided to let me and Lauren drive it!!!!!!! He gave us the keys so we hit the town in style....well as much style as we could be in Farmington, but it was still a blast and I still can't believe he let us take it out!

We really had a goodtime in the convertible with our sunglasses on...

One day while we were out shopping, Lauren found a super cute purse, but didn't want it! So I decided to buy it and then everyone loved it so Me, Joyce, Lauren and Ann all got matching, but different purses!! We had to show them off!
We had such a great time this week and are so Grateful for Tricia and RJ's willingness to take care of us for a week! She cooked amazing food all week and let us eat her chocolates and make jewelry with all of her beautiful stuff!! They are so wonderful and we can't wait to come see them again!
